Calling East & West came only a few years after Gerry Blair's first book on predator hunting, Predator Caller's Companion. If the Companion was the full book, then Calling East & West was the summary. Lightly illustrated in B&W, and less than 100 pages, this paperback gives a quality introduction to basic topics surrounding predator calling. Gerry's books are always entertaining and he has his own lingo. In his chapter on calling in the East, he defers to three other gentleman who have spent their lives hunting there, instead of trying to convince the reader he was an expert on the topic himself. Well done, Gerry. It is an easy read full of good information for someone starting out in the East or the West.
Gerry Blair found a new calling after a career in law enforcement as a writer and lecturer. Always entertaining, Gerry has spent more than 50 years chasing coyotes, or better, using his repertoire of hand calls to convince the coyotes to chase him. A lifelong Arizonan, Gerry has retired to the banks of the Colorado River and still gets out to shoot a few coyotes now and then with his faithful shotgun, Moose Dick.
